World Hockey Forum – global meeting of the world’s hockey leaders, will take place in Moscow from 16th to 17th of December, 2016.

Aims

One of the main World Hockey Forum’s aims is to create the platform for the open dialog and experience exchange between countries-participants of the International Ice Hockey Federation/IIHF. Such constructive cooperation should support elaboration of hockey’s popularity and progress in the future.

Besides, yearly conduction of international forum of this level in our country would definitely increase the prestige of Russia as a hockey power and will allow for an improvement of potential of our country’s hockey.

Key themes

The most actual problems, solutions of which should strengthen hockey position in global space of world sport, were chosen as general themes for the forum’s discussion:

• strategy for attracting and retaining: the experience of professional hockey
• the development of grassroots, women’s and sledge hockey in Europe and the world trends in the development of coaching thoughts: the features of a modern training process
• hockey as a social and cultural phenomenon

Program

Forum program includes different formats interaction with guests and participants: panel discussions, round tables, training seminars. Apart from the scientific-practical and educational events, there will be held special cultural events, and, furthermore, attendance of an exhibition of a Hockey World Cup match between Russian Federation and Czech Republic at WHF.
