Russia National Hockey Players Training program (NHPTP) “Red Machine” Presented to WHF-2018 delegates

 

In the framework of panel discussion “Effective use of national training programs in different countries” at the World Hockey Forum Moscow-2018,  Mr. Roman Rotenberg, head of Russian national team coaching staff and executive vice president of the Russian Hockey Federation presented a key report on successful implementation of the national hockey players training program named “Red Machine.”

The program offers a new philosophy of training hockey players in harmonious development of athlete’s personality. To materialize the program a series of methodology guidebooks was published for hockey schools coaches. All methods are assorted according to the stage-by-stage growth and development principle with due consideration of age/physiology specifics.

In continuation of the modern approach to training young hockey hopefuls, Mr, Anders Wallstrom, director of children/youth training programs at the Swedish Hockey Association in his presentation made accent on coach’s responsibility not only for teaching proper technical skill and endurance but also for harmoniously and mentally fit personality.

In turn, Mme. Suzanna Kolbenheier of Hungary, chairperson of the IIHF Women’s Hockey Committee dwelt on specifics of professional and mental training of the world’s best women hockey players.

Besides Mr. Sean Finn of HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl’ and Vladislav Bespomoshchnov of HC Haukat shared their coaching experience.
